Equiscan - Respiratory Wellness Test
Runny nose, cough, increased breathing, or long recovery times after
exercise are just some of the symptoms of an upper respiratory
infection. Fall, winter, and spring are prime time for diseases of the
respiratory tract, and are often caused by one or more of four common
pathogens including herpes virus and streptococcus bacteria.Upper and lower airway disease is a common cause of poor
performance, particularly in high performance / high-intensity disciplines such as racing, eventing and polo. The Equiscan can be used to evaluate the respiratory tract and is particularly useful in examining horses with respiratory problems and / or poor performance.
Results from the Equiscan report can provide you or your vet with new
information and can also act as a pre endoscopy assessment tool.
