  • The price is per horse. Please purchase additional kits for additional horses. If you have a large number of horses you would like tested, please get in touch with our team via the contact form.

HOW IT WORKS:

  • You will receive a DNA Test Kit via the post. This will include instructions on how to collect the DNA sample as well as everything you need to collect the sample and an envelope to post it back to us for testing
  • Once we receive the Test Kit back at our head office, we will then conduct the scan and prepare the report with results of the scan for you.
  • You will then receive the scan report back within ten days. This will allow you to then talk with your vet or other treatment provider to address areas of concern highlighted in the scan.

  • Runny nose, cough, increased breathing, or long recovery times after
exercise are just some of the symptoms of an upper respiratory
infection. Fall, winter, and spring are prime time for diseases of the
respiratory tract, and are often caused by one or more of four common
pathogens including herpes virus and streptococcus bacteria.

  • Upper and lower airway disease is a common cause of poor
performance, particularly in high performance / high-intensity disciplines such as racing, eventing and polo.

The Equiscan can be used to evaluate the respiratory tract and is particularly useful in examining horses with respiratory problems and / or poor performance.

Results from the Equiscan report can provide you or your vet with new
information and can also act as a pre endoscopy assessment tool.
